[1 YoE, Fulltime College Student, Part Time IT/Help Desk, United States]
I'm a college freshman who just finished their first semester on break currently. I've recently just acquired my network+ and security+ certifications to complete the CompTIA trifecta, a well regarded set of entry level IT certifications. I''ve also stepped into Microsoft azure a little bit and practiced honing my troubleshooting skills. I''ve applied to numerous jobs, but since I'm a full time student meaning I have to apply to part time help desk / It jobs, which really narrows my search parameters for a job. I haven't gotten anything back yet from these jobs. A good amount of the roles I've applied to are college side roles with an IT focus, mostly in person jobs and some hybrid/remote ones. I feel like my resume is missing a lot and needs a lot of improvement but im not entirely sure where to start. I thought my experience as a customer representative for a huge telecomms company for over a year during my senior highschool year would really help me land a job quick, but it's much harder than I thought to land a job in IT / help desk starting out, especially as a full time student. Any help/tips is greatly appreciated.
